The Leonardo Project is an unprecedented publishing event.

In 1964, following careful and scrupulous assessment by the academic world and by decree from the President of the Italian Republic, Giunti Editore was awarded the care and facsimile reproduction of the Leonardo notebooks and Codices.

This marked the start of the National Edition of Manuscripts and Drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, an impressive publication that includes facsimile copies of all the Leonardo drawing and manuscript works. These are perfect reproductions of the original drawings and manuscripts from every point of view including materials, printing and presentation.

The National Edition of Manuscripts and Drawings contains the first and only official reproductions of Leonardo's notebooks and codices. Never before have the owners of the works, conserved in a wide variety of places all over the world, allowed direct access to the originals in order for them to be reproduced.
